The protagonist Arthur Morgan is a criminal. That's pretty bad for you as a player, because the end of the Outlaws is imminent. Together with Dutch van der Linde's gang you commit crimes and try to counteract the end of outlaws and gunslingers.
Red Dead Redemption II is the third installment in a game series created by Rockstar Games. With the largest and most detailed game world of all Red Dead offshoots, you get a good chunk of gameplay here. Each NPC, animal, and village has its own routine. Your actions affect gameplay significantly. Even railway lines and locations expand as the story progresses.
There will be no character change like you could use in GTA V. Arthur Morgan is the only playable character. He has a beard and hair that you have to take care of at a barber's. Or not. The average citizen is much more afraid of a completely shaggy outlaw than of a banker. Your hat can blow off you too. You then have to pick it up so that you don't lose it. Hopefully, this doesn't happen every few minutes of the game.
Robbing, Stealing, and Looting
You will be able to rob every train and bank in the game. The NPCs aren't safe from you either. Since you're a wanted criminal, you can't walk into a corner shop and do your weekly shopping. You have to hunt the animals yourself. This system should be even better in the new Red Dead part. After you kill an animal, you have the choice of skinning it on the spot or taking it with you to your shelter. There it then acts as food for the whole gang. If you take too long, the meat will rot.
The horses have a level of trust in Arthur. The higher this is, the faster it gets. In addition, its stamina increases and you can summon it from greater distances. Just like in Max Payne 3, you can only carry a limited number of weapons with you. A horse does not increase your carrying capacity indefinitely, but it does increase it by a significant amount.
The Heists will work similarly to the Heists in GTA V. You can decide for yourself whether you open the safe loudly or quietly. Depending on the situation, you also have to shoot your way through a lot of deputies.
Western Crackers!
One of the best aspects of the game will be the voice acting. The game will not be available in German, only in English with German subtitles. This is the case with almost all Rockstar Games. One of the few exceptions is "Bully: The Lap of Honor". With Red Dead Redemption II, Rockstar San Diego brings us a worthy sequel to one of the best Western games of all time. The only question we have is: why not for the PC?
